Life Update ✨
I've been sporadically writing a very long blog post (in my head) about being off social media for close to a year... so I wasn't going to post anything until I felt ready to get it all out properly. But that time doesn't seem to be coming anytime soon, and I've had quite a few people checking in and asking if I'm okay, alive, or where I've been. So, I figured I'd share a little update in a format familiar to those who have seen snippets of my life in little squares over the past 10 years.
I'll get around to typing out the essay in my head re: being offline for this long after being online for so long. But for now, life is full—I'm happily consumed by exciting work and the things that matter most—so here we are. ☺️
15 photos that are by no means a well-rounded depiction of the past 12 months, more so snapshots of some special moments, and a little note to let you know: yes, I'm alive and well. 💁🏼♀️ I really appreciate the kind messages and I also apologise for disappearing. The past year has been a time of blocking out the noise and focusing on the people close to me and what's right in front of me.
The longer I leave it, the harder it is to return to the 'gram. I miss the interactions and the beautiful people I've connected with over the years, but the app itself has changed so much from its early days. The reasons I once loved the app slowly became outweighed by the reasons I didn't, and life without it feels like being a kid in the '90s again—seriously special.
What started as a week off turned into a month ... and now, nearly a year later I can't see myself stepping back into a space that no longer aligns with how I want to spend my time on this precious little planet.
I've never felt more creative, calm, and content—while also being completely immersed, engaged and inspired with work. There's plenty to share, so perhaps blogging and a trusty old email newsletter are making a comeback? 🤓
I hope you're well and riding the wave (or rollercoaster) of life with as much ease as possible. Sending lots of love from my little corner of the world to yours!

Lovely to hear from you Elle. Agree with another’s comment. Sub stack is pretty special place to write intimate updates.I enjoyed watching you move from small business owner to a thriving business. Would love to hear what travels you have been up to. 💜
Really happy to hear that you are well, Elle!
Hi Elle! these feelings about Instagram seems to be growing among 30-somethings like us – perhaps look into Substack? I’m a writer and migrated there for someone who was always chasing the void on IG, I have to say Substack is pretty special (and still small/intimate). It’s a newsletter but also a blog so maybe something that would align with you! Just thought I put it on here as I’m genuinely loving the platform and the conversation I can have on there. Glad you’re back online thought :)
Ahh so good to hear from you, Elle! I’ve been checking your page randomly as I’ve missed the fragment of light that you are. I am sure you are having the best time and I can’t wait to hear more from you in the coming days. xoxo
I love your blogs and your newsletters! And also your IG stories, of course, but so happy to hear you’re well and thriving. Can’t wait to hear from you more in whatever platform that might be :)
